Transportation to, from, and around the School

The school is located about six miles from the little town of Bigfork, Montana, and about twenty miles from Kalispell. There is not much in the way of public transportation in the Flathead Valley, outside of Amtrak, which goes through Whitefish, and the Glacier International Airport near Kalispell. Both shuttles and rental cars are available at the airport.

While the classes will occupy the lion’s share of students’ time, most will want to get away from the campus some evenings and weekends for recreation, meals, and supplies. Access to a car would be convenient, perhaps necessary for most students. The school will have bicycles available for the short trips to the local café and Bigfork for those who want them.

Our hope is that class participants will be able to coordinate both travel to the school and local transport among themselves. If you are interested in working with other students on transportation arrangements, please indicate that on the space provided on the registration form.
